Jack London Elementary School Home

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

For the first two weeks in May we will be single mindedly focused on students showing their absolute best on the California State Test. Your job as a parent is to be sure your child has plenty of rest the night before, make sure he/she gets a good breakfast and above all else – be sure your child is at school on time with a positive, happy attitude.  In grades 2-4 every class will spend the first 30 minutes taking roll, collecting homework and other beginning-of-the-day activities. At 8:30 every classroom will be in testing mode. 5th grade will test from 10:20-12:20. During this time parents and students may not interrupt a classroom. If you are a parent volunteer you may work in the office, the library or some other area of the school during the testing period. Incentives will be given for perfect attendance during testing.

Following testing, classes will be preparing for Open House. Students will be ready to show off all the wonderful things they have created and done this year. Please set aside the evening of Thursday, May 17th to attend Open House as a family. It is a great time of celebration for everyone. Our music concert will be held Wednesday, May 30th.  It will be a wonderful night of showcasing the talents of Jack London students.
